How did you first get into Muv-Luv?

I visited /m/ pretty frequently in 07-12 and kind of unoriginally rode the hype train. No regrets, of course.

It was some anime series called Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, then Akane Maniax, which is the future and sequel to that anime, and it's few months before Muv-Luv story begins, you can see it here. That was so decade ago, makes me feel old, and I'm the long time and oldest Muv-Luv fans around. 10 years of this franchise.

I watched Kimi ga Nozomu Eien back in 2005 if I remember correctly and watched Akane Maniax and Ayu Mayu Theater, I never found the Muv Luv anime, I need to do some searching... Geez I don't really remember, a lot has happened in the last 5 years... I think I was able to DL it in 2010 or 2011 after going to Anime Expo and some guys at a Fakku panel talked about it. But, after playing Katawa Shoujo, the Monster Girl Quest trilogy, and some other games, I can't really remember a lot of the game. Especially after the last year and all the legal and medical stuff I've been dealing with, I really need to replay it.

Sometime after I had a surgery, I just laid in bed all day recovering and browsing /a/ when G-Senjou no Maou's fan TL was just released. I read it and I started to frequent the VN fan translation scene after that, which led to me discovering Muv-Luv Alternative's fan TL soon when it was released. I suddenly remembered its opening movie that I happened to come across on YouTube a few years before since I really liked JAM Project's song but I didn't have a clue about what Muv-Luv really was at the time. It was getting a lot of hype and I remember seeing that CG where the Takemikazuchi was holding a Grappler head and thinking it was awesome so I just had to read it. Needless to say, after a long marathon of the trilogy, I just fell in love with the series and the rest is history.

I found out about Muv-Luv accidentally. I started collecting figures and saw some from Muv-Luv. I really liked the design. And because i like to know about the origins of charakters i found out about the series. And so it began :-)

Accidentally got a Meiya figure in the mail instead of an MP Eva toy and looked it up to find it was the highest rated porno game on VNDB so I gave it a try.

I got into it, a few years ago, when a fellow otaku co-worker gave me the game and insisted I play it. So I played through the trilogy. The first two I paced myself, then I read Alternative like an addict.

I don't really know anything about Muv-Luv other than it's on of the more well known/popular ADV games like Clannad and Steins;Gate and the story is something about mecha pilots. I'm glad I never bothered with the fan translations and I can get to play it on Vita.

A few years ago, back during my second year of grad school, I saw Muv-Luv quite a bit on /m/. So I managed to figure out how to set up the game and its translation and ended up blowing straight through it over the course of a couple of weeks of the winter part of the first semester. Never looked back 8)

How did I get into it ? Simple, like most things I tend to get into : Seeing the openings at karaoke sessions during conventions, then taking a dive in the Muv-Luv ocean because it looked interesting enough.

Baldr Sky. That is another novel that desperately need translation. That was my full conversion. My initiation started with Gundam 00. To me it was one of the best gundam series because of the realism and atmosphere it based itself on. That where my interest in mecha began. Then I rewatched previous Gundam series I saw when I was younger like Wing and Seed, and then somehow I arrived to Baldr Sky by Giga. That game is one of the best cyberpunk I have seen in a while, it combined mecha, the matrix and Blade Runner, plus moe of course. That's when I knew I hit my apex, but then it came....Alternative. It was like watching all of the movies and somehow finding out that I had yet to see Citizen Kane. It was magical indeed. And then I watched TE, played TE and just finished Schwarzesmarken (VN). So let's see the anime and see if it hold up...I honestly think it might not have as big production values as the VN but we'll see.

I started getting into visual novels a few years back when I wanted to read the source material to all of Key's anime adaptations.  Once I managed to read everything by Key (excluding Air, I don't think there was a completed translation at the time), I was looking into new VNs to read through. I saw all the praise Muv Luv was given from /r/visualnovels as well as it's rank in the VNDB, and decided to give it a go.

Ive been watching anime for years, one of my favorites was the fsn series,  i did my research on it and found that it came not from manga but Vn's which was when i first learned of that.

Intrigued i put getting into vns on my todo list. Recently when i had a lack of other things to do i jumped right in. I saw muv luv was rated highest and the idea you actually play the backstory in a normal world before being thrown into hell seemed awesome,  infact ive never seen such a thing done so well in any form of storytelling or entertainment before.

So inside of 7 days i cleared the trilogy.

I was amazed, it was pure brilliant. A fan of muv luv For Life. That means if they get any sequels done I AM IN.

I never got the KS as frankly i dont keep up with those sort of things however ill buy the full western release and most of anything else that comes.

I hope that after seeing the enthusiasm we have in the west for their work, age will give us the proper support to buy and use their product.

From the things i have seen that seems to be the case so the future looks very bright indeed!
