  1. We're now 1/3rd of the way through August and nothing more on that? The game was already delayed from last October, so what the heck is going on?
  2. Everything about this Kickstarter has been kind of disappointing. First the port to this new engine with really shitty scaling, which I've covered in the past - The original Muv Luv actually looks better because it knows to properly scale the images, unlike the new one which stretches them only. Hence you get ugly picture quality on larger monitors. Seriously, on my 27'', it looks awful. I can't imagine on a 50'' TV or so - yet I also booted up the original and did a side by side, the original had much clearer and sharper pictures. Then there is the cropping. Also the localization leaves much to be desired...the original fan translation is much more faithful to the source material. As for the topic at hand...Muv Luv Alternative was due out October, last year. It is now mid-way through May, and nothing. Also consider that what they started with, they claimed they only needed to re-translate about 20% of Ixtals translation, so it's not like they had to do the entire damn thing. Disappointing overall with the extreme lack of progress, updates and overall choices. I now understand why Nasu doesn't want official ports of his works, if such a big franchise like Muv Luv can experience this, it would be hellish to see F/SN officially brought over, his art destroyed in an attempt to make the images widescreen, characters now speaking English idioms and slang, ect. It's an absolute travesty the way this entire process has been handled, the lack of communication, and don't you say it's about money - the Muv Luv KS is the most successful VN KS to date, and overall is in the top 20 most successful kickstarters. They had the money. I mean hell, they even charged for the 18+ patch, which is pretty messed up as it's content you already paid for - removed. The lack of communication and general extended wait, better mean they've been doing a second pass on all this and maybe fixing the issues I mentioned above, but I doubt it. They got millions to re-release a product already made.
  3. Kickstarter Updates

I'm not part of the Kickstarter I saw all these updates. Just by googling or looking on this website, where they've been posted before.
  4. Kickstarter Updates

All of these updates are very old. Nothing new is being shown here.
  5. Muv-Luv Feedback

The game originally ran in 4:3, god dammit. It shouldn't be that difficult for a team selling a product to do. This is supposed be the definitive version, we should have everything the original had - and more. NOT an inferior version.
  6. Muv-Luv Feedback

Yeah, I want a 4:3 option so I can see the full image.
  7. Muv-Luv Feedback

But the game had the content originally. They removed it. They are now putting it back and charging you.
  8. Muv-Luv Feedback So this just happened. Talk about disappointing. The patch was supposed to be free. It's all over the Steam forums and interviews, now the patch costs.
  9. Muv-Luv Feedback

Jesus, been quite awhile since release, it is taking them forever. I almost regret buying it.
  10. Almost every Manga, anime, VN, the Childhood friend is awful. She's a whiny, naggy bitch, who dotes on the MC for no reason. She has as much personality as a stump, and is always willing to let the new challenger(i.e, Meiya), take her spot, mope about it, until 20 episodes into a 24 episode anime, she confesses after reaching a breaking point and then the MC says he loves the new girl, she smiles and accepts it. For me, Sumika stands out in that she's fun, cute, and sure she nags Takeru alot, but not in the way some Childhood friends do. They also, actually care for each other besides romantics, in alot of these things, the Chilldhood friend just fades way from the MC's life after he chooses another girl, but Sumika is also, y'know, his friend and doesn't bail like that. It's tremendously difficult to make a Childhood friend not a walking cliche or intolerably annoying. Usually the worst route in any VN is the Childhood friend. Just horrible. I try and save them for last whenever I can.
  11. Steam Achievement

    "Fun Time with Teacher"
  12. Steam Achievement

Well, you can disagree, but it's the agreed upon term by man. Any woman of advanced age is now a MILF, instead of a cougar. Slang terms change with time.
  13. Steam Achievement

It really doesn't matter when a MILF is concerned, it's anyone of the appropriate age to be a mother.
  14. Steam Achievement

Or "Got MILF?" Probably too vulgar.
  15. Yeah, they're friends, and friends do that kind of thing. So it's ok when she hits him hard enough to orbit into space, but not when he hits her on the head for acting like a dumbass? Playfully do, it's not like he's trying to crack her head. Just a simple thud.
  16. A story moment, a characters death, ect. Something like that. Only one.
  17. Muv-Luv Feedback

Except that I can play any older game full screen and it's fine. It's the game upscaler that's at fault here, it should stop trying to stretch the image and change your screen resolution, like the others.
  18. Muv-Luv Feedback

Running full screen it looks as bad as all that, yeah. I still play many 90's game, and have watched movies from the 40's, and anime from the 80's as it's not my issue, my issue is the blur filter makes it look like ass.
  19. Muv-Luv Feedback

Gameplay? it's a VN. Listen, I love the story of the series, but 50% of a VN is literally visual fidelity.
  20. Muv-Luv Feedback

Last one looks like Photoshop. Mine aren't. Mine is one ( 1440p), taken full screen. The second one I show is filtered through Waifux2. (With no compression, it can actually reach the same size as the normal image with compression) And no, I'm not recommending pictures for all resolution sizes. I'm merely asking why I can boot up VN's from the 90's and they look better - early 2000's VNs, ect, any VN really, looks better than this release, visually. Even the original CD / DVD version, full screen, has none of the blur and minimal aliasing. I think the rendering engine in this, when it resizes, tries to apply some type of FXAA. Which is basically a blur filter on the image to make jaggies harder to notice. AS you can see - result is awful. I'd like an option to disable the blur. I'd take the aliasing, jaggies are part of life, but the blurry nature ruins the image entirely to me, as you can see. The first image, the "Default" one in the comparison, is completely uneditted. That is straight from the game itself. The actually CG's themselves are of fine quality, it's just the Engine has a super shitty resizer. Like MS Paint level. I can go boot up Fate / Stay Night, a VN made around the same year as the original Muv Luv (2004 VS 2003), full screen it, and the image is crisp and clear. Not the case in Muv Luv Steam release - but the case of the original DVD release. Whatever their new method for resizing images is, it's awful. Just awful. My screen is 2560 x 1440 - 80% more pixels than 1080p. The images are 1152 x 600. F/SN's CGs are 800 x 600. The ones in a game like YU-NO are even smaller, and yet clear and detailed on my monitor. Not the case with Muv Luv and I really need this fixed or I'm regretting purchasing this. New translation is cool and all, as is actually -owning- the game, but the DVD version, while 4:3, still visually, looks superior.
  21. Muv-Luv Feedback

The problem isn't just jaggies. I want you to see this. The default one is the in-engine screenshot, upscaled. The secondary one is using Waifux2 to upscale. Notice the lack of blur.
  22. Muv-Luv Feedback

    Game is incredibly blurry, yeah.
  23. Steam Achievement

Have you done the Marimo ending?
  24. Muv-Luv Feedback

I completely disagree as a matter of course. Imagine if, you woke up one day, and your best friend, a guy, had been turned female, and now the prospect of being attracted to them arose? You would just "accept it as a matter of course", it's not transphobia or homophobia, it's a completely realistic reaction.
